Armenia has denied there was any “hidden agenda” during recent high-level discussions in Brussels with senior representatives of the European Union and the United States after a serious of allegations made in the media.

Ani Badalian, a spokesperson for Armenia’s Foreign Ministry, on Thursday commented on “various conspiratorial news”, including the publication by Azerbaijani media of a document allegedly agreed upon by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian and Western leaders at their meeting on April 5.

Badalian described the publication in Azerbaijan as “fake.” She said that no such issues were on the agenda of Pashinian’s meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

“The meeting held in Brussels was focused on the resilience of Armenia and the diversification of its economy. Too much has been unnecessarily voiced around this topic, and it does not correspond to reality,” she said.

“The complete agenda of the topics discussed in Brussels is set out in the joint press release distributed following the meeting. Any statement made outside the agenda of the press release is false. There was no hidden agenda at the Brussels meeting. The Brussels process has been completely transparent and will remain so,” the Armenian ministry’s spokesperson concluded.
